We Only Use Organic, Raw Cacao
The headline act. We use single origin Peruvian organic raw cacao - this is NOT like the cocoa you buy in the supermarket. After a lot of taste testing, we finally settled on our bean of choice, criollo. The original gangster of cacao beans, it is renowned for its delicate yet complex flavour and rich secondary notes.
Processing the cacao at low temperatures ensures that it maintains its high nutritional profile. Loaded with flavonoids and minerals essential for proper body function, cacao is a true Amazonian superfood. Here's what it can do:
- 15g of magnesium per portion means it's a fatigue fighter
- Cacao contains anandamide, also known as the bliss molecule, which binds to the cannabinoid receptors in the brain creating a sense of ease and happiness. Wow!
- Cocao is a rich source of polyphenols. It’s especially abundant in flavanols, which have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. These flavanols work to increase blood flow to the skin’s surface, promoting vibrant and healthy skin. Polyphenols also reduce blood pressure and promote brain health.
