Yacon Syrup? What's that?!
The yacon plant is related to the sunflower. The syrup, which comes from the root of the plant, is a versatile prebiotic sweetener. Yacon syrup has a molasses-like texture and is eaten as a gut-healthy, zero-glycemic, low-calorie alternative to other common natural sweeteners like stevia.
Unlike artificial sweeteners like Aspartame, Saccharin and Sucralose, yacon syrup actually improves digestive health by feeding your gut bacteria the right nutrients to help your body thrive.

Yacon is mostly made up of fructooligosaccharides and water. This means that the majority of the carbohydrate sugars cannot be digested by the body, resulting in a very low calorie alternative to sugar. We Only Use Organic, Raw Cacao
The headline act. We use single origin Peruvian organic raw cacao - this is NOT like the cocoa you buy in the supermarket. After a lot of taste testing, we finally settled on our bean of choice, criollo. The original gangster of cacao beans, it is renowned for its delicate yet complex flavour and rich secondary notes.
Processing the cacao at low temperatures ensures that it maintains its high nutritional profile. Loaded with flavonoids and minerals essential for proper body function, cacao is a true Amazonian superfood. Here's what it can do:
- 15g of magnesium per portion means it's a fatigue fighter
- Cacao contains anandamide, also known as the bliss molecule, which binds to the cannabinoid receptors in the brain creating a sense of ease and happiness. Wow!
- Cocao is a rich source of polyphenols. It’s especially abundant in flavanols, which have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. How long does it keep?
The packaging keeps air out, so it has a shelf life of seven months. Once opened use it within 8 weeks. No need to keep it in the fridge, so it's also great if you're travelling or camping.

What’s the difference between cacao and cocoa?
Raw cacao is made by cold pressing the beans, ensuring maximum nutrients are retained. Cocoa is heat treated before undergoing the pressing process which destroys a lot of the nutrients. This is why cacao is classed as a superfood and cocoa is not.

We're not certified gluten free as the factory we use handles gluten. However, the ingredients themselves do not contain gluten.

The Theobroma Cacao tree is where all chocolate products come from. Broma also means food in Ancient Greek.
