How To Make Breakfast Bowls With Broma

Below are just a few breakfast bowl recipe ideas that we reckon you just have to try out. All of them are super good for you and are made that bit more special with a little help from Broma.

Spiced Berry Porridge

Ingredients List: 

  • 60g rolled oats 
  • ½ tsp mixed spice
  • 300ml of your chosen milk
  • 30g protein powder, vanilla or unflavoured 
  • 65g fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 30g fresh or frozen blackberries 
  • 50g yoghurt, such as Greek, natural, soya 
  • 1 tbsp Broma Organic Cacao Drinking Chocolate 

Method: 

The preparation process for this one is as simple as combining the oats, mixed spice, protein powder, and milk into a saucepan, before setting it over medium heat. Once you’ve brought it to a gentle simmer, cook for eight to 10 minutes. Make sure you stir regularly until the mixture is thick. 

You can then take it off the heat, before stirring in the blackberries and raspberries, until the fruit starts slightly disintegrating. This can be followed by stirring through the yoghurt, spooning into a bowl, and adding a tablespoon of your favourite flavour of Broma drinking chocolate. Now, you’re ready to serve, it’s that easy! 

Overnight Oats

Ingredients List: 

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 
  • 50g rolled porridge oats 
  • Your choice of toppings 

Method: 

Vegan breakfast ideas don’t get more evergreen than overnight oats! As the name suggests, the preparation of overnight oats entails readying a jar of tasty oats that, once left overnight, will be irresistible and nutritious come the morning. 

Start the night before by stirring the cinnamon and 100ml of water or milk into your oats – don’t forget a pinch of salt, too. The next day, add some more water or milk if the oats need to be loosened. Then you can go ahead and add your favourite toppings such as berries, coconut, banana, cinnamon, pecan nuts... and of course, Broma sauce!

Açai Bowl

Ingredients List: 

  • 200g acai puree
  • Frozen banana 
  • 60ml plant-based milk or water 

Method: 

An acai bowl is essentially a thick smoothie bowl that can be topped with healthy and/or indulgent ingredients. Include ingredients like frozen bananas, strawberries, and blueberries, along with the likes of fresh fruit, seeds, and granola as your toppings. Before you know it, you’ve got yourself a breakfast that feels like a snack – and is packed with antioxidants. 

Rustle up this one by first running the acai puree pack underwater for one or two minutes, or, you can store it at room temperature so that it slightly thaws. You’ll then need to place all of the ingredients into a blender, stopping in the middle of the process to beat the mixture to break up any solids. Continue blending, and the contents of your acai bowl will soon be thick and creamy. 

Acai has an earthy taste, so when you’re serving it in a bowl, our sweet Broma chocolate sauce is the ideal topping to complement it. Other great options for the toppings include the likes of kiwi, whole pecans, and puffed quinoa - don’t be afraid to experiment!
